TEACH TEC
Youth Academy, Stay Out the Streets (SOS) program is
an out-of-the box life skills school-based 24 hour seven
days a week mentoring program whose mission is to assist
at-risk students to ensure graduation from High School and
avoid the juvenile criminal system.
SOS works with the Public School
System and community based organizations to provide
professional mentors who make a 24 month commitment to the
youth enrolled in our mentoring program. SOS works
with a TEAM concept of mentoring. A student is assigned a
TEAM of individuals.
We believe due to the number of
issues in the lives of at-risk African American males, time
needed to ensure success requires we stay engaged 24 hours,
seven days a week.

S.O.S.
has six objectives to provide assistance to promote
mentoring for youth with the greatest need to:
1. Improve academic performance;
2. Improve interpersonal
relationships between youth, their peers, teachers, other
adults and family members;
3. Reduce the dropout rate;
4 .Reduce juvenile delinquency
and gang involvement;
5. Provide support and
confidence and resource they need to reach their potential;
6. Expose youth to experiences
that they might not encounter on their own.
Sample program activities:
Summer employment, visionary
field trips, college tours, weekend activities, chess club,
donuts with dads, executive luncheons & leadership breakfast
